This website is a privately run reference resource, not a government office. We cannot tell you whether someone is in custody, arrange a release, accept bond money, or pull an official booking or court record. Those requests have to go to the agency that holds the record. The offices below are the ones that can actually act on a Middlesex County custody or records question.
Offices That Hold the Records
Connecticut has no county sheriff and no Middlesex County jail records desk. Custody questions go to the Connecticut Department of Correction, and the two facilities below handle nearly all Middlesex County detention. Call during business hours and have the person's full name and date of birth ready. A DOC inmate number speeds everything up.

Not sure which office you need? Match your question to the right starting point.
- Someone was just arrested and may be in custody: start with jail inmate records and the DOC search steps there
- You need a booking photo or want one taken down: see jail roster mugshots for the request route
- You want the charges, court dates, or case status after an arrest: use court records after a jail arrest
- You need visiting rules, mail rules, or deposit steps for a facility: open the Hartford Correctional Center or York Correctional Institution page
- You want to run the official custody search yourself: go straight to the CT DOC Inmate Information Search
- The person may be in federal or immigration custody: check the federal BOP inmate locator or the ICE detainee locator
